Hoiana Resort & Golf appoints Melvyn Boey as new CFO

Hoiana Resort & Golf appoints experienced financial executive Melvyn Boey as its new CFO to enhance operations and drive growth.

Hoiana Resort & Golf, a luxury integrated resort in Vietnam, has appointed Melvyn Boey as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Boey has over 25 years of experience in equity research, corporate finance, and the hospitality sector.

In his previous role at a Singaporean integrated resort, Boey was involved in navigating the company through the Covid-19 pandemic by implementing business re-orientation and cost optimization programs. His career also includes positions at Schroders, JP Morgan, and Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

At Hoiana, Boey will reportedly oversee the resort’s financial operations and lead strategic financial planning initiatives. He will be responsible for enhancing operational efficiency and supporting the resort’s growth objectives.

Steve Wolstenholme, President and CEO of Hoiana Resort & Golf, said: “His expertise in financial management and strategic planning will be instrumental as we continue to elevate our operations and drive growth in the hospitality industry.”

This appointment comes after the recent transition of Laurence Hawke, the former Group CFO of Hoiana Resort & Golf, to Travellers International Hotel Group (TIHGI), where he will serve as the CFO for Newport World Resorts. Hawke’s move was part of a planned transition, as clarified by Alliance Global.

Boey commented: “I am honored to join Hoiana and excited to contribute to its continued success. Working alongside the executive team and the shareholders, I look forward to driving impactful financial strategies that support Hoiana’s mission and elevate our position in the luxury hospitality industry.”
